Numerical simulation of gap length influence on energy deposition in spark discharge

The aim of the work is to study influence length spark gap on energy input into discharge channel during its gas-dynamic expansion. Methodology. research carried out by numerical modeling process development at variable values and invariable other conditions. was set in range from 1 mm 20 mm. conducted using a model development, which takes account processes nonstationary expansion channel, transient electric circuit, nonequilibrium chemical processes, gas ionization, heat transfer electrons thermal conductivity. simulation performed atmospheric pressure nitrogen. calculation for various parameters RLC such as capacitance, inductance, resistance voltage across capacitor. Results. evaluates current, deposited distribution thermodynamic discharge. It confirmed that increasing increases spark. deviation linear relationship between or radiated estimated.
